‘Kitayama Maruta'(Kitayama ceder) is a high-quality wood cultivated using Kyoto’s traditional techniques, with a rich history of more than 600 years.
Kitayama logs are carefully crafted one by one by Kyoto’s a skilled artisans and are characterized by their beautiful bark and fine annual growth rings.
This wood is widely used in traditional Japanese architecture, such as tea houses and temples, as well as everyday pieces of furniture.
This event is being organised to promote the Kitayama ceder, which is a representative of Kyoto.
We invite you to experience the fine fragrance and beautiful bark of Kitayama cedar.

Workshops using Kitayama logs will be held for two days the exhibition.
